Be a part of the virtual steelband
All pannists around the world are eligible to take part in this project.
The Virtual Steelband will be performing Liam Teague's "Bella Vista" for its 2015 presentation.

STEP 1. Download the part you would like to play and practice with the audio tracks given. There are two versions of each part provided: a full version for intermediate to advanced players and a simplified version for beginners. There are also audio files available for each part at three different tempos: slow tempo, medium tempo, and the tempo of the final performance. These are made available for practice purposes. The audio of the final tempo is intended to be used while recording your video.

STEP 2. Video record yourself performing your part using the following instructions:
A. Find a quiet area with little to no background noise to do your recording
B. Set up your camera on a tripod or a stable surface.
C. Angle yourself and your pan within the frame of the camera so that you are facing to the right
of the frame. In other words, the camera should be recording the right side of your body and
pan, and should also pick up some of your hand movement within the instrument. The top of
the camera frame should be a few inches above your head and the bottom of the camera
frame should be a few inches below your pan. See example below.
STEP 2. Video record yourself performing your part using the following instructions:

D. Record with HD quality or the best settings on your camera.
E. Using earbuds or headphones, perform your part along with the audio track provided for the
final version. It is important that you use this audio track (provided with your score) and not a
metronome. The camera should not be able to pick up the sound of the audio track (only the
sound from your instrument). Be sure to play as close to the tempo as possible.

STEP 3. When saving your video, label your file using the following format:
Name - Country - Part - Virtual Steelband
For example: John Doe - Trinidad and Tobago - Double Tenor - Virtual Steelband
